The Start! FedEx delivery of four boxes; two adjustable beds and two mattresses with accessories.

Notice that Tom changed the location of the hinge. The original hinge (as shown) is lower in position by approx 5 inches than the new hinge location. By adding the higher hinge location, it made it simpler for us to place the lower section of the adjustable bed where it folds for the platform to be lifted. He also made two holes in the platform so he could snake the transformer extension cords from the storage area to connect to the motor of the bed.

Tom lifted the platform to check the location where the external frame was cut to allow the adjustable bed to bend at the hinge.

Tom removed the slats in the center of the bed to gain access to connect the transformer cables to the two motors. Each motor is located on the left of the bed and the connection point for the transformer is at the end of the motor towards the foot side.

He placed the foot of the bed to be flush with the platform and left an air gap of approx. one inch between the two beds in the center so the beds would not scrape against each other and for wiggle room during installation.

The final step! After placing the mattress on the bed at the desired location, Tom then lined up the foot stopper and screwed the foot stopper on the wood section.

Here’s Judy showing off her strength lifting the platform to access the storage area!

Finally Judy and Tom are taking the moment to enjoy the end of the installation!
