RV ADJUSTABLE BED 2020 TIFFIN ALLEGRO RED

RV Adjustable Bed:  Two independently operated adjustable beds.

Custom Adjustable Bed– Quattroflex MX2 Hybrid Pod/Slat adjustable bed with two motors for each bed

Platform is 72 X 78 inches with an air gap on both sides of 1.5 inch.

Two custom half King adjustable beds beds, each 34″ x 76″. To lift platform for storage access, cut back external frame 31 inches. (Platform hinge location is 30 inches from headboard). Cut 5 inches from foot of external frame.  This platform (with the adjustable beds and mattresses) can then be raised normally to access the storage area.

Add extension 3-4 inches to head section to offset 5 inch cut at foot section. ONE adjustable WITH Normal adjustability (head, back and knee can raise separately). SECOND bed with “Straight Back” Option. Head and back are fixed together to raise in one plane; knee raises separately. “Straight Back ” option best for back sleepers with back that needs support, people with acid reflux or sleep apnea.

Two Different Mattress Models:

Dreamwave 800 Medium-Firm to the Comfy Mattress.
Dreamwave DW 200 (Firm, not Hard)

Each Custom mattress, 34 X 77 inches.

Quattroflex adjustable beds with pods in the lumbar and bottom regions and slats for the head, shoulder and legs.

Both adjustable beds are screwed onto platform. The one on the left has a Straight Back option where the head and back raise together in one plane. The one on the right has the head raise first, followed by the back. This is favored by people who sleep on their should/side. Both beds has ability to raise knee up for “Zero Gravity” pressure relieving sensation.

Notice there is an air gap of 1.5 inches between the side of the bed and the window valence so the back of the bed can be raised without grazing the window valence.

Same airgap for the left platform from the window valence and side table.

The head and back raise in one motion. The grey pods are 25 % firmer and flex with more support than the white pods. Typically the white pods are for the shoulder and the grey are are for the back.

Compare the left and right beds when raised from the back. The left is purposely raised in one motion. favored by people with acid reflux or sleep apnea. Whereas the right rises in two segments: head first then back; with a final height higher than the left bed.

Installed two white transformers under flat pod section instead of in the storage access under the platform. Low profile so can do so. Easier to gain access to cables and connectors. The black box is the wireless receiver with one USB connector and “brains” to communicate to the motor. The red plastic covers protect the revolving steel shafts that propel hidden shafts that move the bed up and down.

Platform lifted up (after raising the backs of the adjustable beds) using the existing struts. There is a power outlet at the back of the storage area which we tapped to provide power to the two motors using an extension cord with two outlets. Each motor, when used, takes up to 50 Watts. Will not run down your battery.

We made a hole through the platform to snake up the power cords to the top of the platform.

Two mattresses placed on bed. The one closest to the door has the head and back raised separately with the knee (not foot) raised.

The adjustable bed is 4.5 inch thick; the mattress is 7.5 inch thick so the total height is 12 inches.

Finally! A chance to relax!

Note the overall size of the bed; more than sufficient area for Dan who is well over 6 feet tall.

Here is Marilyn who is experimenting with the remote wireless controller that has three memory settings. She enjoys sleeping without a pillow and found this combo of a firm (not hard) DW 200 mattress and flexibility of the slat suspension to her liking. She commented that she might like the same at home! Dan has the medium firm (to the comfy mattress). Both have the same hybrid pod/slat adjustable suspension bed – the Quattroflex. The bed suspension settings for Marilyn were slightly firmer to her liking. She has a back that requires more support form an injury.
