RV Adjustable bed: Custom King Doppelflex MX2
Custom King Doppelflex MX2 TWO-MOTOR ADJUSTABLE BED SYSTEM Platform is 72 x 80 inches. Have offset 1 inch on both sides to avoid stone table and window valence when adjustable bed back is lifted up. Offset 2 inches of headboard that projects out. Net Footprint is therefore 70 x 78 inches. Each adjustable bed (34.5″ x 78″). Piano hinge to lift platform to access storage is 30 inches from the headboard. To continue to access the storage compartment, cut the external frame 30.5 inches from the back of the adjustable bed. The remaining external frame is screwed on the lower platform with four L-shape brackets for each adjustable bed that are pre – installed. This allows the lower platform to be lifted up, as per normal, to access the storage area, without the whole adjustable bed being lifted off the platform. For further information, click here: https://luxuryrv.axelbloom.com/pages/rv-installation-guide-for-adjustable-beds.
Selected default to allow the head to raise up first without moving the lumbar/shoulder. Side sleepers love it. Some people with GERD/Acid reflux, prefer to sleep on their backs and do not like the head to be tipped forward. The ‘Straight Back ” option addresses that desire for a flat head/back motion.

We installed the custom beds for the customer and pre-made them before their arrival. Before installing, we are confirming the measurements that the customer and we had measured to make the beds. Happy to say the dimensions were correct!

We removed the boards to access the area to snake the power extender cord from the outlet on the left of the bed, made a hole in the platform, to then emerge on top of the platform (see photos below). Made sure extender cord was long enough for the sliding mechanism.

Placed the first bed and lined it up along the edge, with 1/2 inch space from the very edge (see below).

Notice that the stone side table edge will not interfere with the head raising up.

Here is the left side of the adjustable bed. Again, you can see the side stopper near the head will not graze the stone table top. Note that the customer removed the window valence to ensure no interference. Later he plans to modify the window valence and reinstall it.

We installed the two transformers (white plastic bricks) just under the slats for easy access. They are low profile.

Zipped-tied the transformers and two outlet adapter to prevent motion.

Installed the foot stoppers and proceeded below to test the clearance of the foot stopper.

You can see that the foot stoppers slipped under the cabinets.

The overall height of the bed and mattress is about 11.75 inches. For the foot stopper, it is 9.5 inches from the top of the platform. From the platform to the underside of the cabinet is 10.5 inches; to the underside of the stone table, it is 9.75 inch. So we were clear. But the mattress (which is soft) had to be pushed down at the foot to slide under the cabinet as it is nominally (11.75-10.5 inch) 1.25 inch taller than the crevice under the cabinet.

Both beds are lifted from the back. You do so for the elevation and also before lifting the foot section up to access the storage area (see photo below).

Easy to raise the light adjustable beds. Each weighs approx 80 pounds. The mattress each weighs 45 pounds. (see below with mattress on beds).

Customer plans to remove the white extension cord on the left and place it under the plywood piece in the storage area and connect it to a new additional power outlet. He is a very handy man!

Here they are enjoying the beds!

A handsome and robust installation!
