Window Valence to Valence 68.5 inches. Less 3 inches for 1.5 inch x2 Air Gap = 65.5 inches for Width of Platform. Piano hinge to lift platform to access storage is 4 inches from the headboard. To continue to access the storage compartment, cut the external frame 9 inches from the back of the adjustable bed. This allows the lower platform to be lifted up, as per normal, to access the storage area, without the whole adjustable bed being lifted off the platform. For further information, click here: https://luxuryrv.axelbloom.com/pages/rv-installation-guide-for-adjustable-beds
Two independent systems with default adjustable motion where the head section raises first, leaving the shoulder undisturbed, followed by the back section that is raised for reading or watching TV. This motion is preferred by customers who enjoy sleeping on their side since the shoulder is allowed to “slightly sink in” and the pillow and mattress comforts the shoulder/neck region.

“I will just go to sleep right now” – Belinda Wade
We first lifted the platform to see if electrical outlets were available in the storage compartment. They were not so we access power from outlets beside the platform. The customer planned later to add outlets inside the storage compartment himself.
We installed the bed system in Los Angeles for the customers. Marvin was very involved as you see. We added bolts to the secure the foot section as the platform was particle board so our normal L-brackets might have been as securely screwed onto the platform.
We made a hole in the platform to allow us to snake up the transformer cables to the two motors from the storage compartment. The transformer is the white plastic box.
Strapping the transformer cable so it will not slither around in the storage compartment.
The customer before we arrived, had forwarded us dimensions to make the custom adjustable beds and mattresses. Here we are measuring to center each adjustable bed as we have wiggle room to make sure the beds are not rubbing against each other in the center but also securely resting on the edges of the platform.
To install the side stoppers, the slats should be moved out of the way by removing the rubber slat holsters first. This allows us to hook on and then screw the side stoppers on the adjustable bed. We use blue labels to inform the customer where the side stoppers should be attached.
You can see we have screwed on the right side stopper. We are continuing to add the other three side stoppers; two on each side to press the two mattresses together.
You can see one white cable that emerges from the storage compartment, then snaked through a hole made in the platform and finally placed across the adjustable bed in the center to reach the motor for the left adjustable bed. We do not want to placed it under the adjustable bed as that will press on the wires and overtime might fray the cable.
Checking the two adjustable bed raising motions from the back. The white pods are softer for the shoulder versus the grey pods that are firmer for the lumbar region.
Notice that the adjustable bed is placed (an purposely made) narrower than the platform so the back, when raised, will not graze the windows valence. This window valence actually tapers from the top to the bottom.
We again placed the left bed so the back would not graze the window valence when it is raised.
You can see how the platform can be raised normally to access the storage compartment.
Job done. The mattresses were then placed on adjustable beds. Will add photos of that later!
