V Adjustable bed: Custom King Doppelflex MX2
Custom King Doppelflex MX2 TWO-MOTOR ADJUSTABLE BED SYSTEM Platform is 72 x 80 inches. Offset 2 inches of headboard that projects out. Net Footprint is therefore 72 x 78 inches. Window valences were removed so allow the head and back sections to be raised without grazing the window valences. This then allowed the beds to enjoy the maximum widths. Each adjustable bed (35.5″ x 77″). Piano hinge to lift platform to access storage is 30 inches from the headboard. To continue to access the storage compartment, cut the external frame 30.5 inches from the back of the adjustable bed. The remaining external frame is screwed on the lower platform with four L-shape brackets for each adjustable bed that are pre – installed. This allows the lower platform to be lifted up, as per normal, to access the storage area, without the whole adjustable bed being lifted off the platform. For further information, click here: https://luxuryrv.axelbloom.com/pages/rv-installation-guide-for-adjustable-beds.
Customer selected default to allow the head to raise up first without moving the lumbar/shoulder. Side sleepers love it. Some people with GERD/Acid reflux, prefer to sleep on their backs and do not like the head to be tipped forward. The ‘Straight Back ” option addresses that desire for a flat head/back motion. Customer can make the change himself.

Both beds were installed on the sides of the platform. Notice that with the head and back sections raised, the sections and side stoppers did not graze the blinds because the window valences were removed.

The hinge would be raised normally because our adjustable beds have the unique ability to be cut at the hinge location that is 30 inches from the headboard. This cut is on the external frame, approx. 30.5 inches from the headboard. The remaining external frame is screwed onto the platform; each bed has four L brackets that are screwed to the platform. The picture above shows that with the original struts, the bed and platform can be lifted to access the storage compartment.

Before screwing on the foot stopper, it is good practice to first place the mattresses on the bed to decide where one wishes the end of the mattress to lie. Then screw on the foot stoppers to position the mattress so it slides to the desired position. Notice that we recommend that to avoid the beds from rubbing on the inside, reserve a one inch air-gap in the center. Also useful for wiggle room during installation.

The right mattress is now allowed to be fully placed. Notice that the mattress’ position will then gently touch the side of the other mattress in the center. This will allow the two mattresses to raise and lower smoothly because they are not tightly forced against each other by the side stoppers. We accomplish this by only making each mattress 1.2 inch wider than the bed frame; sufficient to close the air gap of one inch between the beds.

The bottom of the mattresses is about 1.5 inch taller than the ingress of the cabinet and table top. So when the slider is brought in, one pushes down on the foot of the (soft) mattress to enter the ingress.

Both photos look good so I decided to show them together!
Unrelated to this installation but it explains why they look so fit is that they scuba dive at least twice a year!
