Lovely Couple! Carmen and Larry Musgrave.

Measuring the length of the width of the platform at 71 inches.

The left adjustable in place. Note the air gap between the adjustable bed and the side table. Need about 1-2 inch clearance so when the back is raised, it will not brush the side table. See complete bed with mattress at the bottom to see why we need the air gap.

The right adjustable bed placed down to start the process of setting both beds into the correct position before screwing down the brackets to secure the two adjustable beds.

Larry moved the L-shaped bracket from the end of the external frame, where the platform was cut off at the edge, to a location where the bracket could secure the external frame and the platform. Same below for the other adjustable section.

Screwed the side brackets that secure the inside of the external frame onto the platform. There are four brackets for each adjustable system. That’s it! No other brackets required to hold the lower section of the beds. With that done, you can lift up the platform to gain access to the storage compartment.

Larry is in the process of installing the side stopper. The side stoppers are hooked into two holes that are pre-drilled on the inside of the adjustable frame in two location. To access the holes (that are in the shadow of the slats), he removed the slats as shown, by sliding off the rubber slat holders. This made it easier to use the drill to screw down the side stopper.

There are two screws to screw into the adjustable frame to secure the side stopper that keeps the mattress from sliding off. One side stopper at the ankle region and another near the head at the top.

Here Larry is screwing the L-shape bracket on the platform (one of two on each side of the external frame).

Another bracket on the other side of the external frame to screw down.

Almost done. He is beginning to remove the slats to make room to use the drill to screw down the L-shape bracket that is attached to eh external frame. You can see the bracket partially hidden by the slats.

The final stage of screwing down the two foot stoppers.

Note the blue tape that indicates where the side stopper holes are pre-drilled into the inside of the adjustable frame. The other blue tape is where the foot stopper should be screwed onto that wood beam.

Last one!

Placing the mattress on.

At last! Just fit perfectly.

The head and foot sections gently raised.
