RV Adjustable Bed: Custom King Doppelflex MX2 TWO-MOTOR ADJUSTABLE SYSTEM (33.5″ x 78.0″ – Custom RV Dimensions). To lift platform for storage access, cut back external frame 30.5 inches. (Platform hinge location is 30 inches from headboard). This results in 47 inch section of the lower external frame available to be screwed onto platform using four L-shape brackets for each adjustable bed. This platform (with the adjustable beds and mattresses) can then be raised normally to access the storage area.

HELLO YONG, THIS BED WAS PUT INTO THE 2012 ALLEGRO BUS 43QGP. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. ALL WENT WELL. OUR GOOD FRIEND, DAN, HELPED WITH THE INSTALLATION.
AT THE TIME WE CHECKED WITH YOU ON THE BED, MARVIN HAD BROKEN 3 RIBS IN OCTOBER. HE WAS NEEDING SOME RELIEF BAD AND SOON.
THAT BED HAS DONE ITS JOB. HE IS SLEEPING VERY WELL AND THE ADJUSTMENTS ARE GREAT!
MARVIN AND HELEN DERKS
Both adjustable beds were placed side by side to make sure the custom dimensions were correct. Note that the external frame was cut so it started just below the hinge of the platform that is raised for storage access. You can just make out the hinge between the frames in the center space between the adjustable frames. By making the external frame shorter, the lower platform with the lower adjustable sections of the bed can be lifted “Normally” to access the storage area (see below). The blue tapes are to indicate the location of the holes that have been made for the insertion of side stoppers to hold the two mattresses from sliding off.
The bed frames fit exactly at the end of the platform. Note that Marvin electrically lifted up the head/back of the adjustable bed before lifting the lower platform to access storage. He was able to use the existing struts (it is rare to change struts). You can see that the back section of the adjustable beds have at least 1- 1.5 inch clearance from the stone tables so they will not hinder movement of the back section of the bed.
Dan placed a surge protector inside the storage area and connected the two plugs for the two motors. By doing so, they only needed one of the two outlets beside the bed. You can see one small hole made on the side of the frame for the surge protector to snake in from the external outlet . Two other holes were made under the platform to snake the cables to connect to the two motors above the platform.
We just missed the stone table jutting out!
At the bottom of the photo, you can see the top part of the side stopper that is installed in the foot region. The other two foot stoppers will be screwed on a wood section below the foot of the mattresses to prevent the mattresses from sliding off. In this photos, the slider is moved in to check that the mattress location before finally screwing on the foot stoppers.
Here is Helen in front of the bed when it has been slid in. Note that the height of the mattress is the same height as the stone table. Typically, the adjustable bed is about 5 inches in height and the mattress is 7.5 inches tall for a total height (including the motor that is integrated into the bed frame) of a soft 12.5 inches as the one inch mattress cover is soft and luxurious.
All done with the foot stoppers installed.
And here is Dan proudly showing off the beautiful bed! Thank you Dan!! He installed it without calling me for advice!
