RV Adjustable Bed:  Two adjustable beds that are synchronized to work together for a One-piece mattress for a Fifth Wheel Trailer

Custom Adjustable Bed– Quattroflex MX2 adjustable bed with two motors for each bed

Platform is 66 14/16 X 76 6/16 inches.

Two adjustable beds, each 33 X 76 inches that are synchronized to work together for a one-piece 68 x 78 inch mattress. Normal Head/Back and Knee adjust ability.

To lift platform for storage access, cut back external frame 29.5 inches. (Platform hinge location is 29 inches from headboard). The lower external frame is screwed onto platform using four L-shape brackets for each adjustable bed.  This platform (with the adjustable beds and mattresses) can then be raised normally to access the storage area.

Both Quattroflex Adjustable beds are placed with a one – inch air-gap between the frames to avoid rubbing against each other when the Trailer is in motion and for wiggle room during installation. The white pods are softer in the shoulder region vs. the firmer grey pods in the lumbar region.

Video of both beds working in sync. The system monitors the relative movement of the right and left beds to try to keep them even as they raise up and down. You can hear a slight mechanical sound when the relays are working to maintain sync.

Notice that when the back raises, it first raises the head section and thus does not raise the shoulder. Subsequently, the lumbar is raised for TV watching , reading or for sitting upright. Side sleepers in particular enjoy this. Some back sleepers who have acid reflux or prefer not to have the head and chin tilted forward, can have the head and lumbar raise in one plane. We call it the “Straight back option”.

The foot section raises at the knee which is the natural way for the legs to bend.

The black sync cable is connected between two control boxes.

The White discs are placed on the softer gold-colored pods in the shoulder region. The firmer grey discs are placed on the firmer grey pods in the lumbar region. Both pod sets rotate, revolve and flex to provide custom support to a curvaceous body.

The blue tape is placed to identify the location to install the side stoppers. Each bed has two side stoppers on the side to prevent the mattress from sliding off.
