ONE WEEK LATER…

“ITS BEEN ALMOST A WEEK SINCE WE’VE BEEN HOME FROM GETTING THE BED  INSTALLED. WE ARE STILL SLEEPING IN THE MOTOR HOME BECAUSE WE LIKE IT SO MUCH.  WE HAVE A NEW TV IN THE MOTOR HOME BEDROOM AND THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SHOWS WE LIKE TO WATCH AT BEDTIMES IN THE NICE NEW BED.”

A FARMER AND POET:

We bought a Winnebago

Nice, but with an ordinary bed

We wanted something special

Adjustable, for a sleepy head

I searched through the Web

Looking high, looking low

For just the right size

In a Winnebago it must go

Axel Bloom , Beds and Sofas

Popped onto my screen,

German Adjustable beds,

This I’d never seen!

I’ll give them a call

To see what they say,

Yong answered the phone,

This was my lucky day!

He said he could fit

The bed to my size

The right fit for her

And for me, one of the bigger guys

The bed is installed

And it fits just right,

We each have a remote

Over this, no need for a fight

Tilt it up to watch TV

Or to read a good book

The bed fits in perfect

And it has a good look

The Winnebago is great

In good shape it certainly seems

And now in the back

A perfect bed for our sweet dreams

Bob

Started with one adjustable bed placed on the existing platform that is 57 inch wide. We extended the width to 70 inches by placing three 70 inch wide center beams on the platform and screwing on the adjustable beds.

Made sure the head section would not graze the shoulder of the table. Require 1.5 inch clearance.

Locations of the three cross beams.

Second bed placed. Lifted and rolled back the foot section to begin screwing l-brackets to secure the frame to the platform.

Completed attaching one l-bracket to the cross beam.

Removing the slats to make room to install the side stoppers that prevent the mattress from sliding off.

Lower left side stopper installed.

Sally using the remote controller for the first time. The two mattresses are secured by placing them between the side and foot stoppers.

Sally has raised the foot section about a inch at the knee and is programming the memory buttons. There are three memory settings.

Bob and Sally enjoying the beds for the first time!

THUMBS UP!!

When the slide is brought in we have about half an inch of clearance from the foot stopper to the door openers,

Mattress is well positioned and held in place by the foot stopper.

Sally and Bob ready to return home to Monmouth, Oregon! We met on a Saturday morning at 10: 30 am and completed the installation in 2 hours.

Method to modify head section to make it raise on same plane as back section.

Here are a series of videos that I have placed here for future reference. This shows how to cut the piece of plastic which the inner moving shaft encounters when it flips the head section forward. Once cut, the head section will not flip forward and will lift in one plane with the back section for a “Straight Back” lifting motion.

I will explain the process to make the videos more useful to see.
